FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about therapy, appointments, and insurance.
Do you provide in-person or telehealth appointments?
I currently provide telehealth therapy services to clients throughout Pennsylvania using a secure video platform.
Do you specialize in trauma and PTSD?
Yes. I have specialized training in trauma treatment and EMDR-informed therapy. Treatment is tailored to each client's needs and goals.
What ages do you work with?
I work with adolescents and adults. Please contact me if you have questions about whether my services are a good fit for your situation.
How long are therapy sessions?
Most therapy sessions are approximately 53–60 minutes in length.
How often will I attend therapy?
Frequency depends on your goals and needs. Many clients begin with weekly sessions and adjust over time as progress is made.
Is telehealth therapy effective?
Research has shown telehealth therapy to be an effective option for many mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions.
What if I'm not sure therapy is right for me?
Many people feel uncertain before starting therapy. An initial consultation can help determine whether therapy is a good fit and answer any questions you may have.
Do you accept Pennsylvania Medicaid?
Yes. I participate with several Pennsylvania Medicaid plans as well as many commercial insurance plans. Coverage varies by plan, so benefits should be verified prior to your first appointment.
What if my insurance is not accepted?
You may still have out-of-network benefits. Contact the office for additional information regarding payment options and insurance reimbursement.
Is everything I say confidential?
Therapy is confidential with a few legal exceptions, including concerns about safety, abuse reporting requirements, or court orders. Confidentiality and its limits will be reviewed during your first appointment.
What should I expect in my first session?
During our first appointment, I'll learn more about what brought you to therapy, answer your questions, and work with you to identify goals for treatment. There is no pressure to share more than you're comfortable sharing, and we'll move at a pace that feels right for you.
